I knew this time would come

But I didn’t think so soon. Finley no longer calls me “Mommy” or “Mama” she calls me (get ready for this)….MOM! My sweet little baby girl is growing up so fast. Mom?? Really? How sad is that. I thought I still had at least 6 to 8 years left of Mommy or Mama. And Ezra, well he can’t call me mommy until age 10. The poor boy will just get teased. Oh and did I tell you? Ezra is WALKING. Yes, walking! Shut the front door!!!! My 9 month old (almost 10) WALKS. He is funny about it too, he strives for it and is so motivated. He prefers to walk, he is still very wobbly but taking more and more steps everyday and gets more and more brave. If he see something he wants and he is on his hands and knees, he will stand up and walk to it. Hows that for smart? I love these babies more than I could ever explain. I just can’t believe they are getting so big.

Mommy needs a time out

Lately my craving for some “Mommy Time” has increased. I feel like I can’t breathe with all the whining and demands. I feel like I’m suffocating and gasping for air. I feel like I want to throw myself on the ground and kick and scream when Finley asks me over and over for juice 50 times, while I’m pouring it that very second. I would do anything for two minutes to myself. I’m so bad lately I have actually been shutting the door to the laundry room and locking myself in while I start a load or switch over the wash to the dryer, just so I can have a minute or two of quiet. Or I will tell Aaron I have to use the bathroom and I will go sit in the bathroom with the door locked for 10 minutes. Hey, don’t judge! I know every mommy at one point feels like she needs a moment to herself, even if it is sitting on the toilet reading her parenting magazine pretending to go # 2.
Well since I was getting desperate and locking myself in odd places in my house, I called my mom last week and asked her if she wanted me to book a pedicure for us, so we could go have some mother daughter time, in hopes to rise above the water and just breathe. I left the kids with Aaron, I even left an hour earlier than the scheduled pedicure, because I just needed out of the house. We ended up going to a different place then we usually go for our pedicures because they were having a special. (Big mistake you pay more at the Chrysalis because you pay for the professionalism and relaxation) While this place was a bit of a mess, it was still nice to get out. But it wasn’t even worth the deal I got. My polish was peeling off later that evening. So I took my polish off and used Finley’s Piggy paint. Much better now. I’m starting to think that I need to take a weekend getaway, maybe with my sister or a girlfriend. I think I’m to the point where I feel comfortable leaving the kids for a couple days. I need to relax, I need to sleep, and then I need to come home to my beautiful amazing family, refreshed and ready to put my super mommy cape back on.

Well Hello there Mr. Sun, we have been expecting you!

Well Summer finally decided to show it’s beautiful, sunny, warm self to us last week. I was seriously beginning to wonder if we were ever going to get rid of this icky weather we have been having here in the Pacific NW. We took advantage of the nice weather because we really didn’t know how long it would last. Sun here is like your old Highschool boyfriend, on again off again. Teasing you by telling you he wants to get back together then tomorrow he’s with the new girl, Miss Rainy Windy. But Mr. sun decided to stay with us for about a week, he left us for a few days but he is back again. Thank goodness, because I was really starting to get used to the babes being completely exhausted by bedtime. Not to mention I was starting to look like a member of the Cullen Family- but they are all very good looking, and I wouldn’t mind being Mrs. Edward Cullen. (shh don’t tell the hubs I said that)
Anyway, we had a lot of fun last week playing and we even took the babes to the waterslides. Finley liked the pool more than anything. I think the slides were a bit scarey for her, and Ezra is always happily along for the ride and enjoyed every minute floating in his little tube in the pool.

I LOVE this photo of my mom with the kids, they have such an incredible bond with their grandma and this photo shows it.

Stella & Dot Review, Trunk Show and Giveaway

I have always been a very simple girl when it comes to jewelry. I don’t wear much and I’m pretty picky about what I do wear. Until…I found Stella and Dot. I love everything even the things that I don’t think I could ever pull off, but with this jewelry line I think I would try. All of the jewelry is fun, fresh, beautiful and bold. There is something for everyone. Nancy Colton, a Stella &Dot Independent Stylist sent me a necklace and earring ensemble to review last week. I received the Riviera Pendent Necklace and matching Riviera Coin Earrings. I adore them.

So Pretty

I wore them out on mine and the hubs date night on Saturday evening. Not only were they beautiful, but they were very comfortable and light. Now the hubs is similar to me and he doesn’t like when girls wear lots of jewelry (Especially dangly earrings) or make-up, but he even commented on how nice these looked and how pretty they were. (Such a sweet man)The quality of this jewelry is also amazing, and has held up to a few tugs here and there from Ezra. Stella & Dot also has a Little Girls’ Line that is to die for, I want to buy everything in the line for Finley, it really is that adorable. I can’t wait to make many purchases from Nancy; she is so much fun and has been a joy to work with.

Stella & Dot by Nancy Colton, Independent Stylist has graciously offered to give one of my lucky readers the Rivera Mixed Coin Necklace.

9 Mos

Holy Cow, Ezra is Nine months old today! He has offically been an outside baby for as long as he was an inside baby, and that is pure nuttiness to me. I cannot believe how fast this has gone. He is quickly going from infant to toddler. And he will be 1 (oh em Gee) in 3 short months. It is very bittersweet. I love watching him grow, learn and do new things, but I already miss him as a newborn. That tiny little baby, all snuggled up to my chest and smiling in his sleep. :::Swoon::: But I love this age too, he has such a personality. He is goofy and sweet and I absolutley adore him. He is for sure his mama’s boy. The only thing about this age that I do not like one little bit- HE IS IN EVERYTHING!!!! And once he starts to actually walk (which is very soon) it’s only going to get worse. He is now eating table food, we have actually given up on babyfood because he just will not eat it anymore. He wants what we are eating. It will be a few years before we start trying for baby #3 so I know I need to soak up and enjoy every minute with him, even the fussy, the whiney and the messes. This little boy has my heart and I love him more than words can explain. Happy 9 months Ezzie Boy!

Hey Lady, Have some patience!

A couple weeks ago Aaron, the kids and I went down to Haggen (our local grocery store, that is amazing and the only grocery store I will shop at, you have no idea how much I missed this store when we lived in Alaska)to go grocery shopping. Aaron usually doesn’t come with us and I’am left to brave the grocery store with an infant and 2 year old alone. It results in fits, whining and crying a lot of the time. And usually I will use drive up, so I can just get the kids in the car and all buckled in then drive up and one of the Haggen employees puts my bags in my trunk. But when Aaron is there it goes a lot smoother and we usually don’t need drive up. So on this afternoon we walked out to our car, Aaron put all the groceries in the trunk while I got the kids buckled in and he then got in on the drivers side. I’m still buckling Finley in at this time, so I’m bent over with the back passneger side door open, it doesn’t take me but 2 seconds to do so. And all the sudden I hear “Ugh…excuse me?” in kind of a rude voice. So I peek my head out and see a women standing there with a sandwich and drink in her hand. Obviously her car was next to ours and I was in her way. I said “Can I help you?” and she just kind of stared at me and gave me a look like “Thats my car and I’m trying to get in it.” I then said “I’m buckling my child in her carseat.” I wasn’t rude at all, a matter a fact I think I was so shocked that someone would actually be that rude and couldn’t wait two seconds while I buckled my child in, I wasn’t really sure what to say. And even if I wasn’t buckling my child in, there is no reason why you can’t wait until I’m done doing what I’m doing, if it be putting my groceries in my backseat, grabbing a sweater or whatever, you can wait! What do you think lady? I like to hang half way out of my backseat, bending over and straining my back while I tug at my pants so my bum isn’t hanging out? Yes, thats what I like to do, just to make you stand there so you can’t get in your car. Sorry lady, but I’m not as rude as you So you can wait and please learn to be a little more patient, because next time I don’t think I will be! I swear people these days have lost patience and kindness. This is one thing I try really hard to teach Finley. I’m always trying to explain to her how to be patient and gentle. I really hope she learns this and I hope she uses it and grows up to be a kind, patient and loving young women.
